Todays Rick's post is on American artist the late Rick Griffin (June 18, 1944 - August 18, 1991). Rick Griffin was a leading artist of psychedelic posters in the 1960's and today his work is highly regarded and collected. His work includes some of the best known posters and record sleeves of the 60's rock band the Grateful Dead. Sadly this very talented Rick lost his life shortly after he had a motorcycle accident on his Harley Davidson that occured on August 15, 1991 in Petaluma, California. One of my personal favourite 80's funk singers who sadly isnt with us any more was the late Rick James. Rick who passed away in 2004 from a heart attack was probably best remembered for "Super Freak". Arrested several times on drug offences, he served nearly two years from 1994-1996 in California's Folsam Prison, the same prison Johnny Cash made famous in his song "Folsam Prison Blues". Of Australian nationality singer songwriter muscian and actor Rick Springfield is probably best known for his 1981 number 1 hit single "Jessies Girl". Yes, we do all know it regardless of our age. Rick born 23 August 1949, on the outskirts of Sydney, was originally Richard Springthorpe.

The singer relocated to the US in 1972, and on 3 May 2011 was arrested along the Los Angeles Pacific Coast Highway on suspicion of drink driving and as of the date of this post the case is still ongoing. This is one Rick who through his career has battled the highs and lows of depression, but there's no doubt whatsoever the guy's still one talented Rick.

This is my fiftieth post and there's still plenty of Ricks, Ricks blog and Rick stuff to list. The blog is my little bit of fun and light relief although I can sometimes get quite distracted by and absorbed in some of the cool Ricksblogs and websites I come across, because you know how interesting us Ricks can be.

I have to repeat my praise for a Rick I mentioned in a much earlier post and thats for..yes.. you guessed it its my all time favourite Rick on the web...the one and only...Rick Schwartz, aka The Domain King. Clap him, please. Love him or in some cases hate him, there's no getting away from the fact the guy talks straight and with a refreshing honesty on topics business, web marketing and domain related.

Now I've several new blog and website projects still in the early planning stages and I'm hoping these will oneday elevate this Rick to the same Google listing status as Rick Schwartz. So remember the name its Rick Zedd coz its gonna be big, real big and special...but then what Rick isnt!

How many of you like me jump on board every new web domain name extension thats launched only to think several months later "why'd I do it". For me in the past few years its been .tel domains and I narrowly escaped the .co domain frenzy.

Now, the .tel domain extension in theory was a runner, perfect as a contact hub, only..er..it wasnt. Everyone I gave my .tel domain name, family, friends and anyone that mattered and some that didnt, forgot it in less time than youve taken so far to read this post.

So, with the imminent launch of numeric .tel domains and premium two letter .tel domains will I have the will power to stop myself wanting one or even two new additions to add to my fast growing portfolio of "why'd I do it's".

Some of you guys today 14th May will be celebrating your football teams win, some will be overjoyed at the birth of their first child and others of you will be for whatever reason as happy as Larry..sorry..Rick!

Now for me Rick Zedd well I'm just happy this site got to wait for it..page one on the Google search results for the keyword Ricksblog. Thank you. Thank you so much Google. I owe you..something! So even if its just for the day I dont care I know the site got there.

I actually had two results on page one the first being directly under Ricksblog.com of Rick Schwartz aka The Domain King, can you believe it..under..The..Domain..King my web hero, although to be fair as us Ricks are it was a mention on a link site, the second my own site's real listing was at position five of page one. And I'm over the moon.

This my fortieth post on Ricksblog-of-Ricks will say a Happy Birthday to now retired Canadian ice hockey player Rick Vaive who was born 14th May 1959. Rick's career in the National Hockey League spanned 1979-1992 and he is best remembered as the first 50 goal scorer in Toronto Maple Leafs history.

After forty posts there doesnt seem to be any end to the talents of us Ricks so I shall carry on searching and listing to show the web and the whole world the name it needs to light the way is...Rick! Er, sorry folks gotta wee bit carried away there!

I constantly swap back and forth between laptop screen and being a big movie fan a cinema screen, but until recently I'd never heard of the 2003 movie Rick. Described on the IMDB as Rigolello retold at Christmas time in Manhattans corporate world it stars Bill Pullman and is classed as a comedy drama. Somethings been nagging at the back of my mind, I even awoke from a lovely deep sleep last night with that feeling somethings not quite right. Then it hit me hard. Real hard. I knew there was something I hadnt done. Of course that was it, damn it, I hadnt listed me...me...Rick Zedd.
